Back in 2016, our leadership team were running a video game publishing company that wanted to sell to the Japanese market.

However, we quickly realized that in order to be successful, they needed to simplify Japan’s complex payment infrastructure. And doing that meant solving one of the biggest problems in e-commerce: allowing local customers to use local payment methods to spend money on global stores.

So we made selling to Japan simple.

And after building a platform that unlocked the Japanese market, we partnered with Valve to help Steam corner the Asian market by letting customers in Japan and South Korea pay for their games with local payment methods like konbini or digital wallets.
